Dawn Gingrich: Bio

Dawn Gingrich - violin

Award-winning violinist Dawn Gingrich has appeared internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. She has given frequent recitals at a variety of venues in Chicago, Boston, Baltimore, Michigan, and New York. She has been a featured soloist with the Bach Week Festival Orchestra in Evanston, Illinois, and has made solo appearances at New England Conservatory, Longy School of Music, The Juilliard School, and Northwestern University. An accomplished chamber musician, Dawn was awarded the bronze medal at the 2001 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition as a member of Trio Una Corda.

Ms. Gingrich has participated in numerous summer music festivals, including Music Academy of the West, Thüringische Sommer Akademie in Böhlen, Germany, International Musical Arts Institute, Yellow Barn Festival, and the Encore School for Strings, as well as festivals at Indiana University and Northwestern University. She was invited to serve as concertmaster under Dutch conductor Arthur Arnold at the inaugural season of the Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific.

Dawn Gingrich began violin lessons at the age of three with Barbara Bredemeier. She has since studied with Blair Milton of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Mimi Zweig of Indiana University, Linda Cerone of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Zvi Zeitlin of the Eastman School of Music, and renowned teacher and pedagogue Eric Rosenblith of the New England Conservatory. Ms. Gingrich currently lives in New York City.
